Our Products and Services

What’s changing for pet keepers?

We’ll now be offering two levels of subscription service when keepers register their pet’s microchip on the Animal Tracker database, with enhanced benefits.

CONNECTED

For a fee of £15, a keeper will be able to register their pet’s microchip and enjoy the features of our essential pet keeper subscription account for a full year. This will provide:

  • Access to our 24/7/365 missing pet helpline
  • 5 weeks FREE pet insurance
  • Peace of mind that should their pet go missing, we’ll notify them as soon as their pet’s chip is scanned (New)
  • Unlimited changes to their contact details throughout the year
  • A proof of keepership certificate, updated & issued annually
  • Keepers can register up to 5 pets in their account

LOST & FOUND

For keepers looking for an enhanced service, our Lost & Found subscription will offer the following benefits for £30 per year:

We’ll assist the keeper with the search for their missing pet:

  • Missing pet alerts to vets, wardens and keepers
  • Ability to instantly create a missing pet poster with their pet's details
  • Top level access to local pet finding network ‘Pet’s Reunited’ (72% reunification rate) and a Trustpilot score of 4.7
  • Peace of mind that should their pet go missing, we will notify them as soon as a verified scan takes place
  • Access to our 24/7/365 missing pet hotline

Premium benefits for their pet’s safety and wellbeing:

  • Access to unlimited video and telephone vet consultations with 24/7 vets
  • Ability to keep a record of vet & vaccination records in their account
  • Option to set-up temporary contact details for holidays or other purposes
  • 10% discount through our online shop

Convenient management of their account:

  • Keepers can register up to 5 pets in their account
  • Unlimited changes to their contact details throughout the year
  • A proof of keepership certificate, updated & issued annually

Both services are offered on an annually renewing basis, with reminder communications sent out at least 30 days prior to the renewal. A summary sheet will be provided to you ahead of the launch to assist in training on the new subscription offers.

What’s changing for breeders, implanters and trainers?

As recognition of the important role that breeders, implanters and trainers play, we are enhancing our rewards programme and discounting our training programmes:

  • 2 free microchips for every new Lost & Found keeper account set up and 1 free microchip for every Connected account set up.
  • For every pound spent, you will now receive 2 Peddypoints to be claimed against future purchases through our online shop.
  • We’re currently offering free implanter training when a starter kit is purchased from our online shop and we’re also covering the mileage costs across group and individual bookings to support both trainers and new implanters until May 2025.
  • Existing benefits will remain in place. Breeders can register individual microchips or entire litters at no cost and transfers from the implanter to the breeder are also completely free.

Why are the prices changing?

Our ‘Connected’ pet keeper account option has upgraded features compared to the basic registration previously available. Each pet keeper can now add up to 5 pets within their account and will also benefit from an annual certificate of registration and notifications when a verified scan is completed on their pet’s microchip. Our ‘Lost & Found’ proposition now includes the highest level of access to the local pet finding network Pets Reunited, with a 72% pet reunification rate.

We remain committed to providing excellent customer service with both a 24/7 missing pet helpline and our UK based help centre, which operates from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.

In addition to the costs of maintaining our contact centre and looking after our people, security of our customer’s data is of the upmost importance. We don’t sell customer data to third parties; the prices we charge are used to support the maintenance of our systems and contribute to our excellent service levels.

Why is there no one-off charge option?

All too often microchip registration can be a ‘set and forget’ exercise, with keepers forgetting to update their details, meaning that vets, wardens and microchip databases have no way of contacting the owner when their missing pet is found. Our subscription model encourages active participation by the pet keeper. As part of both the essential and premium subscription options, we will now issue an annual certificate of registration to remind keepers of the records that are held on the database and encourage them to get in touch if their details are incorrect.

This ensures that swift reunification can take place when a lost pet is found, scanned and searched on our database. What’s more, we’re rolling out new functionality to notify subscribers by SMS as soon as their pet’s microchip is searched on our database and provide them with details of the location of their pet instantly. This provides pet keepers with a guarantee that they’ll be contacted when their missing pet is brought into a vet, warden or rescue centre and a microchip search is completed.

Our Connected service offering is a more affordable way for pet keepers with multiple chipped animals to securely register their pets as one fee covers all pets. There are also no additional charges for change of details (previously required a £16.95 subscription) or for the keeper certificate (previously £3.99).

What if a keeper does not wish to continue with their subscription?

We recommend that customers take out a subscription to ensure that their microchip registration is up to date with the correct details and to enjoy the added peace of mind that comes from the enhanced features.

For customers who do not wish to continue with access to Connected or Lost & Found following their first year, they will be able to opt out of the service and their DEFRA-compliant microchip registration will remain in force. However, it’s important for keepers to understand that a one-off charge of £15 will apply to access features such as change of details.

I have a question about this change. How do I get in touch?

For any queries, please contact our UK-based contact centre on 01279 219777 between 9am and 5.30pm, or email us at info@animaltracker.co.uk and we’ll be glad to assist you.
